UNPHOTOGRAPHED DOGS

18 month old male, good looking boy

TAILS
Tails’ previous owner was widowed and needed to move so could no longer keep his dogs. She only has half a tail (hence her name), perhaps she was born like that or it is as a result of an injury. She is only about 9 or 10 months old and a Border Collie X. After an examination by the vets at the Johannesburg Animal Eye Hospital Tails has been diagnosed with cataracts and a damaged retina in both eyes. Sadly nothing can be done for her and she is going to go blind. We do not know how soon this will be but obviously it would be better for Tails and her new owners if she could be in her new environment as soon as possible whilst she still has some sight. This dear little dog is obviously going to need extra care and a different kind of training in order to live out her life happily. We are appealing to you that if you feel you can offer this sort of home to Tails or know someone who can, to please contact us. A property check will apply and we will supply as much support in the process as we can. Thank you for considering giving Tails her special home, she deserves it.

LEVI
Levi was found as a stray, he wasn’t wearing a collar and had no microchip and despite us advertising widely and informing the relevant shelters and vets in the area he has been sadly unclaimed? He is a little boy of around 5 months old, just a normal 5 month collie full of the joys of life and would benefit from some training!

ED
Ed is a magnificent what we think is a German Shepherd Cross Collie, he followed someone home and again despite advertising widely no one has come forward to claim him? It may be because he is an excellent jumper so he will need either 8ft+ walls or electric fencing on all the boundaries to keep him in. He is a big happy friendly dog, loves to play ball and give hugs and will make an excellent family pet! Ed is between 15-18 months old.

GABY
Gaby is a little BCX female pup, she’d only about 7 weeks old and just wants to be in a family home where she can be interacted with and spoilt rotten like all self respecting collies. Bear in mind she’s a growing girl so you are going to need to house train and provide lots of hoofs/rawhides for her to chew on instead of your furniture!

NOMIS
Nomis is a 5yr collie cross male, his owners thought their garden was too small for him, he’s a friendly guy who is a very alert dog, probably better to go to a home without very small children, he is good with other dogs although he would be better as the only male.

CISKA
Ciska is a 3 maybe 4yr female, she is good with cats and other dogs but being a ...typical female likes to be boss. Her favourite game is to chase birds so it won't be a good idea if you have chickens or parrots walking round! She's a very busy little girl who will need a lot of mental stimulation.

HORTON
Horton is a 18 month male, he was donated as he and his playmate, both unsterilised males were fighting. He does like to be the lord of his castle and he is a very busy boy! He is great with cats and children but it will be ideal if he is the only male dog in the house.

MORPHEUS
Morpheus is 9yr male, he's great with other dogs and children but doesn't know cats. He is a friendly adaptable boy. His owners have to move for financial reasons and cannot take him with them.

TARKA
Tarka is a male of around 9 or 10 yrs, he's really friendly and despite his age he's a busy boy enjoying life! Tarka is good with other dogs, His owner is widowed and cannot cope alone anymore so has to move. Will post a new pic after he has been bathed and groomed as he will look magnificent!

SALVADORE
Salvadore is a 10 yr male and he's great with cats, kids and other dogs. Like a lot of older dogs he can be a bit stiff if he overdoes it on the exercise so no marathon walks please. His owner has had to move and very sadly couldn't take him along. He's a really friendly boy who needs to lose a few kilo's, has been spoiled rotten as all self respecting collies are, he just wants a loving retirement home and a nice warm pillow to sleep on.

DRABBLE
Drabble is around 6yrs old, We think he is a Great Dane cross Border Collie, he’s a very busy active boy who is good with other dogs, he’s a very loving, friendly dog with bounds of energy, His owner is widowed and cannot cope alone anymore so has had to move to a property where they won’t allow pets.

SHORTY
Shorty is so named because although he looks like a Border Collie his little legs are corgi sized. He is around 5years old and has lived a miserable life, this has left him a little cautious of humans, especially men, until he decides on his terms that you aren’t going to hurt him and only then will he allow to you give him a love, he’s never sure if the attention he is getting is going to be good or bad. Shorty is going to need a family who is willing to work hard to regain his trust and give him the space he needs to do so, he won’t do well being “molly coddled” and needs a lot of time and treats and bribes to restore his faith in humanity. We would rather he didn’t go to a home with children as they all think he is “munchkin” cute and want to cuddle him but at the moment he finds cuddles quite scary. --- UPDATE --- Shorty is doing really well and has discovered the delights of playing football, so much so we are considering changing his name to Beckham!

TESS and SIMBA
We are two sisters about 4 years old, and we were told that we have some BC blood so that must make us special. Our family have gone their seperate ways and although Dad looks after us he is away a lot and we are very lonely. We were brought up on a farm and are very good with all other dogs, cats, chickens and children. Due to all the changes in our lives we are rather nervous but we will settle down in our new home very quickly. Although brought up together we can be homed seperatly cos we know its difficult to expect a family to have room in their hearts for both of us. We will need lots of TLC and patience but we will reward you with a forever faithful companion.

CHLOE and FLEUR
Chloe and Fleur are two 7 1/2yr sisters, they are great with other dogs and children, loving friendly dogs. They love water and walks, enjoy car trips, will fetch a tennis ball as long as you are willing to throw it for them and are house trained. They were born in Scotland and so are ex pats, their owner is returning to UK and sadly cannot take them with them. Chloe and Fleur have to find a home together, Fleur is Chloe's bodyguard and they do everything together, eat together, sleep together and wouldn't cope if they were split up.

FLUFFY and LUCA
Rescued in Aug 2009. They were just 12 weeks old. They are now 9 months old. Looking for a loving home. They are both males and have been inoculated , de-wormed and sterilised. These two boys are desperate for their own home. Have lovely personalities and are loving boys, they are typical 10 month old collies and are busy guys! They need space and being X Border Collies love to run. We are more than happy to see them go their separate ways as long as they get loving homes.

AMBER and JADE
Jade and Amber are Border Collie cross Beagle girls. They are 4 years old and were rescued as pups and have lived with me from age 4 months. Both dogs are spayed and have full vet vaccination and de-worming records and are micro-chipped. The dogs have attended some traditional and clicker training, although they still do pull when walking on leads as they have tended to do more free-running than lead-walking.
Jade is more Border Collie in nature. She loves to run and play. Ball catch is one of her favourite games and chewing on a nice hoof or doggie toy can keep her busy for hours. As a border collie she is a little anxious and nervous and can bark a bit. She also can be a bit aggressive with small dogs, but is much improved with the training she has done. She is very loyal and loves to be around people. She responds well to commands and is happy to learn new tricks and behaviours.
Amber is more Beagle in nature. She really loves to run and sniff. She loves to chase Jade when she is playing ball and also really enjoys her doggie toys for chewing. Amber enjoys training and games and does a very lovely “high five”. Amber loves people and also socialises well with other dogs.
Although we have lived together all our lives we think that it would be best for us to be homed separately [ we can write to each other ] as being both girls we can get a little 'bitchy' and so would prefer to be homed apart and with a boy dog for company. Oh yes and absolutely no cats......sorry but we really don't like them and may hurt one if we catch it.

BUTCH and TIMMY
In a perfect world we would like Butch and Timmy to find a home together, We know this is a difficult task so are willing to split them up as long as they both get great homes with other canine companions. Butch is a 2 ½ yr female collie cross lab and Timmy is a 2 ½ yr cross collie cross mastiff we think? He is a big dog, he was adopted as a collie cross pup but just kept growing into the gentle giant he is now. Butch and Timmy are both well socialised and are great with other dogs, cats and children although Timmy the gentle giant can be a little wary of new children at first as some miserable ones that weren’t trained at all used to tease him at the gate, they love to play and retrieve, like car rides and swimming and are both house trained. They are used to sleeping inside and really, really enjoy their walks!
